The Government of Singapore is formed by the political party which gains a simple majority in the general elections held in Singapore at least once every five years. It is part of Singapore's political system and supported by the Singapore Civil Service. It has been consistently rated by Transparency International as one of the most politically transparent and least corrupt governments in the world [1], but has also been criticised for electoral intimidation [2], and freedom of speech violations [3].

The government of Singapore has been chosen by election since 1959 elections, when Singapore achieved self-governance. Before then, the government was mainly either a colonial administration solely or a mixture of colonial rule and a partially-elected assembly, such as the Legislative Council. The People's Action Party has formed government in every election since 1959.
