[edit] Biography

[edit] Early life

Lennix, youngest of four siblings, was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Lillian Cleo, a laundress, and Harry Lennix, a machinist.[1][2] Lennix's father was a Creole from Louisiana.[3] Lennix attended Quigley Preparatory Seminary South and Northwestern University, majoring in Acting and Direction. He taught music and civics for several years in the Chicago Public School system and is a frequent lecturer.

[edit] Career

Lennix has had supporting roles in films such as the Matrix series, The Five Heartbeats, the Spike Lee film Get on the Bus, Ray, and Barbershop 2: Back in Business. In television he had a recurring role in Diagnosis: Murder as Agent Ron Wagner, as well as a voice-over role in the Legion of Super Heroes animated series. He also starred in the ABC TV series Commander in Chief and the movie Titus as Aaron the Moor. He had a recurring role in the sixth season of 24 as fictional Muslim civil rights activist Walid Al-Rezani. He appeared on the show House MD as a paralyzed jazz singer. He also appeared in 6 episodes of ER (TV Series) as Dr. Greg Fischer.[4] Currently, he stars in the Broadway show Radio Golf.[citation needed]

He has recently been cast as Boyd Langton in Joss Whedon's upcoming series Dollhouse.[5]

He is also a Hillary Clinton supporter, and was present at her "Solutions of Pennsylvania" rally at the University of Pennsylvania's Palestra on April 21, 2008.[citation needed] However, his physical resemblance to Barack Obama may account for his selection to play the US President in Matt Lucas' and David Walliams' "Little Britain USA"
